Here's a list of my current most favorite DIY projects. Eventually I would like to blog about each one extensively but until that day, may I happily point you to their respective TikTok vids? Groovy, thanks <3
Handmade Vintage-Style Heart Boxes

I've been lusting after vintage chocolate boxes with their elaborate decorations for years, and finally I decided that instead of dropping a small fortune on the real ones from the 60s-80s that I'd take the boxes I had (I save them every year even if I have to buy the chocolates for myself which is more often than not <3) and transform them into little retro masterpieces. Here's a TikTok showing a bit of the process! I'm using these 3 as the inspiration for my bathroom makeover; all DIY of course and coming soon.
"Angelica" Salvaged TV/VCR Combo

This is without a doubt one of my favorite things I've done to enhance my space and gift to myself. I found a TV/VCR combo player on ebay in white and decorated it with hand-molded clay pieces and painted angel ornaments, matching rhinestones and jewels, and set up an alter with my little swan, Mary, and ballerina statuettes as well as some quartz chunks. The process was pretty straight forward so here's a TikTok tour of this absolute beauty!
Glammed Up Celestial 90s Pill Box

This pill box was literally and visually depressing until I got my hands on it. Using paint pens in colors that reminded me of the 90s, as well as holographic stickers to represent my day and evening meds...this one is for the chronic illness girlies and guys like me that will do anything to improve our quality of life. For me, that means surrounding myself with things that just make me smile instead of want to cry! I'm stoked with how this came out. Click here for a better look <3
Band Merch Flip: Disco Ball Logo!

OOO GURL. They may be Roxx Revolt now but when I grabbed one of their tees a few years ago, despite getting the smallest size avaliable it fit me like a dress ;D I'm not exactly the curviest gal sadly. But I was only mildly discouraged and putting it on made me realize that not only could I turn this t-shirt into a halter mini dress, but that I would make an attempt to paint a glitter disco ball in place of the original red circle in the logo was. I took a shot in the dark here but it really worked, and I will always be THAT GIRL that flips band merch into rock couture. Here's a better look and don't worry, I'll be back with more Roxx Revolt merch soon because they are my muses!
The Wonderwall Closet Door Makeover

Since you've been here for a few minutes, I think you may have caught on that my main muses for a lot of my fashion sense and home decor are 60s are collective The Fool. The worked with the Beatles creating eye-popping outfits for the Apple Boutique and I took the interior design of the shop as huge inspo here, adding the clouds for a bit of my own spin (I'm forever combining 60s psychedelia with more Victorian/Versailles-esque aesthetic. These doors were pretty easy to achieve, though the rainbow border was achieved with paper tape...placed ONE piece at a time. Come take a better look here...and lemmie tell you, you won't believe what's inside now :-0
Love Witch Door Makeover

Big shout out to my sister for finishing off this project for me when I got to sick to do it. This was a plain white door, much like the closets and well: that just wouldn't do. All I did was use some dark woodgrain contact paper for the main door and carefully cut some stained glass contact paper for the inner panels, colored the edges with black and used black paper tape for the fiddly bits that wouldn't lay flat by themselves en voila! This design was inspired by Elaine's apartment entrance in The Love Witch, which I played at for Halloween last year. Check it out (and peep some of the rest of my room including the paper laterns below).
Glam Paper Lantern DIY

Another project inspired by The Fool's feature in the film Wonderwall, I reworked these plain paper lanterns into something special using scarves and scrap trim I had laying around. With my disco ball collection, it looks pretty stunning as the center of my bedroom ceiling. Here's a little look at how I did each lantern. I'm gonna be honest though I've always planned on having some green apples dangling from this instillation to really round it out but I've been to busy to hang them ;P One of these days!
The Fool Altar Table Makeover

I did this table well ahead of the Wonderwall Closet but it was very much like the mini version of that DIY. This table was just a cheap white piece of junk until I got my hands on it. It was one of the first DIYs I tried to document while I was doing it, and in fact the video had to be split in two on TikTok because back in the olden days the limit was 60 seconds...wait...30 seconds? Anyway. Here's part one and two. I'm happy to say that this project (and quite a few others I've been doing) have been approved by Marijke Koger herself, who's artwork is in the frames <3
Reworking our Dated Chandelier

We live in an 80s house and the original fixtures are all in that bright gold brass which like. You know. It's OKAYYY, just not very cool on it's own. I found lots of glass bead drops and chain in rainbow and AB crystal and went to work swagging until I was happy. The "candles" however were very ugly and actually dirty looking so when I figured out the tubes slip right off I turned them into purple melting wax candles and added flickering lightbulbs to complete the gothic effect. I LOVE how this thing turned out and you can see what it looked like before, during and after right here.
Lace-Up Groovy Glowing Ballet Flats

I saw a pair of shoes that I desperately wanted on etsy but just couldn't justify the purchase before someone else grabbed them before me. I even saw a second pair but by then I think I was already scheming these babies. They lace up with fold-over elastic for that gladiator look, but can be laced any way you want. The bonus? The are black-light reactive and glow in the dark. I had fun free-handing the design and to be honest I think they're cooler than the ones I saw on Etsy ;) Here's the video!
Sticker Collage Lamp Shade w/Dangles

I've done two of these so far and for such a simple concept, the results are so stunning. All I used was a plain white lamp shade (it came with this lamp but was sad and boring, duh) and puzzle-pieced the stickers to a one-of-a-kind pattern of rainbow flowers and butterflies. The shade bothered me how it sat so short, so I added some bead dangles I had left over from another project and it finally made this shade look fancy enough for the base it's on! I recorded the process for tiktok as best as I could and I kinda hope I hear from someone else that tries this out!
Cosmic Hearts Gladiator Sandal

I've done a full blog discussing my journey into making The Boyd Sandals but I made this special heart version on a very sad Valentine's Day. I had had this concept stolen by a larger creator who promised that she was here to be my friend and promote all of my artwork by any means. Turned out she was just interested in copying me. It's okay! I finished these despite nursing a broken heart from betrayal but also my beloved Percy had to leave us just days later for the great beyond. I was too sick to even model these & am literally filming them in bed, legs in the air as you can see here. I do feel sad when I see these but I also feel excited because I'm working my tail off on patterns for YOU to create your own gladiator sandals...
The Boyd Gladiators by Dollierocker®

Ah, yes. The shoes that remain one of the only shining moments of 2020 for me and frankly the last half a decade. I started tinkering with these in 2013 as I explain in my blog and after moving to a new house, breaking an important bone in my foot, falling off a cliff with my health and the pandemic ruining my very existence...I pulled these off, LOL. I had hoped to go "viral" with these but that was not to be. And now that I am in the process of perfecting their pattern (something I have been hammering out for 5 YEARS just for you) they will finally be accessible to everyone who's ever wanted them. Here's the video I put out on them albeit reluctantly. I was afraid of being ripped off and I was but now that the dust has settled, feel free to view and enjoy. Just remember that these shoes are my whole heart and just because I put a bit of my process up does not mean that method is free to use without credit! I'm a disabled artist and am depending on my work to start generating an income because let's face it, I can't hold a job with my illness. That's why I've been working on this blog so fiercely of late! And with that, I'm off to go work on those PDF files for you to make these yourself (or have someone you trust make them for you, hehe) <3 PS: Pattie Boyd Approved!! AHHH!!!
Are their any projects I missed guys?! Lemmie know 🍓🍓🍓
