Welcome to Dollie's Cyber Cafe!
It's quiet in here, but not too quiet. You can hear the music at the perfect volume, smell your favorite drink and snack being prepared for you as you make small-talk with your usual barista. You are surrounded by an ambience that seems so familiar and cozy; a faint smell of pacholli and some sort of flower that is just enough to be pleasant but not as overwhelming as the hippie shop you just scored your new tapestry from. You don't come here as often as maybe some of the other folks you see chugging their espresso-infused coffee drinks while surfing the web, yet it still feels like a home away from home. The pillow you see next to you looks so cool you think very seriously about swiping it in your oversized tote but then come to your senses and give yourself a grand excuse to go visit Pier 1 Imports, even if just to window shop. They call it a Global Village Coffeehouse and the vibe is perfect. So do enjoy your stay and remember, we're a cybercafe so we never close ;)

Hot cocoa is also a winner for me on these rainy/cool nights but as a treat (and so I don't get sick of it berfore winter ;))
It's the most wonderful time of the year! That's right...summer is officially over and as I write this it's actually October Eve! I admit I have never been a pumpkin spiced starts-halloween-in-august millennial, but I'm really leaning into the appreciation of this time of year more than ever. This summer was so brutal that I am sooo on board with everything Fall. This month's book is one by a gal that really gets us: In the Girls' Room by Rachel Moss. If you don't follow her socials or her website I highly suggest it. And how good does that apple green look on THIS page? My bedroom was literally the color of this book when I was a teen. Like I said: she gets us. I'm in my bedroom right now, creating this site for you. It's my hub and hopefully as the season comes along I'll be sharing much more of my own sacred space! Go figure, this cyber cafe is run from my room ;)
I don't think I've ever been so excited for a craft corner as I am for this one. Grab a fat quarter of some festive fabric, some filling, and join me in making the most whimsical pumpkin patch you've ever seen. I love how unique this one is, and I can't wait to make enough for a full display. Stay tuned <3
Ever since I was little, I've been fascinated with this single fabric pumpkin (obviously hand-made) that my mom got probably in the early 2000s and for some reason this year I finally bit the bullet and decided that this poor little fellow needs WAY more pals. I put my skills to the test after securing a few fat quarters of beautiful fall themed fabric and came up with something I think still has that same 90s/early y2k vibe. Of course mine has way more doodads on the top and instead of a stick that was sadly lopped to be very pointy and a bit terrifying with the splinter risks, lol, I took a toilet paper tube and fashioned it into a very crafty stem. I only have the first one I've made done to show you but now that I've gotten a feel for how I want to approach these, I can't wait to get my more fall-themed fabrics and go to town to show you the steps I took. Though I must say I am SO into these cornucopia/harvest fabrics with the abundance of fruits and veggies and wicker like...really fits the vibe for this place doesn't it? Anywho, come back soon for craft night when I can finally sit down and show my process. Dollie is seeing a doctor for her complex chronic illness and pain for the first time in a YEAR so things have admittedly been slow going if not totally dead around here despite my best efforts and I appreciate anyone who has stopped by the cafe while I've been mostly bed-bound the last 365. I sincerely hope that I finally get some meaningful healthcare and can be more present HERE, in my corners of the internet where we can all come together and create.
